Shopping is available throughout Karon and very much caters to tourists with a wide selection of novelty t-shirts, souvenirs and such. Karon Centre Plaza lies along soi Centara One and is home to a number of little shops selling clothing and shoes. It also features a rather impressive leather stall. Aroona Karon along the beach road is another area with plenty of bars, cafés and eateries, as well as a few shops. Karon Bazaar is a conveniently covered market on the beach road (Patak Road West). It stocks all sorts of items, including a huge quantity of t-shirts, beachwear, shoes, sunglasses, hats and the list goes on. Open daily, it is a maze of brightly lit vendors where you can bargain for the best deals. Shopping in Kata Beach is another great choice. It’s quite diverse with a range of vendors selling souvenirs and surf shops selling branded products. Everything stays open late into the night, so you’ll find that the shops are busier after dark when everyone has returned from the beach. There are quite a few unique shops at Kata Beach that sell clothing, as well as traditional home furnishings and antiques. Most shops are stand-alone but there are a collection of stores within Kata Plaza where you’ll find beachwear, clothing, hats and shoes, as well as sunglasses and travel accessories. Along the street, you will also find plenty of clothe shops in a very affordable price. Remember to bring your bargaining skills with you and you’ll be sure to have experienced a satisfactory shop. Kata Noi has a few tailors and convenience stores and can cater to your requirements for basic needs. You can always head to Kata Beach, a short distance over the hill for more products, where you will find opticians, pharmacies and such like.
